Step 1
Locate and pull hood latch.
Step 2
Bang on hood furiously.(Repeat step 1 as well)
Step 3
Go inside and yell at cat. (optional)
Step 4
Go back outside and jam screwdriver into latch.
Step 5
Locate a plunger and attach to hood.
Step 6
Pull up on hood.
Step 7
Open hood.
It gets better
Now I have to wait until my other car thaws out to jump it. The passenger rear door was the only door not frozen shut (go figure).
The joys of -3 degrees.

I was expecting a step with a blowtorch. My mom's mid-80s Suburban actually had the hood frozen closed with no visible ice the other day, parking it in warmth made it unstick.

Where did the hammer come into the equation? I know there had to be one... it was a GM product ;)

I was expecting something about the '86-'91 LeSabre's clamshell hood. I still have fond memories from years ago of an asshole car salesman struggling to figure out how to open one of these. It looks normal when closed, and when you pop it, it springs up at the front like normal hood would.

Probably caused by oxidation. Should've gotten the TruCoat.

Hammer was actually used to break off ice on hood to make a clean surface haha
